a) Food security is required to ensure that each individual of a country has access to safe and healthy food at all times of the year. During a natural disaster,the rates of food rise (due to shortage of food). food security ensures that foodgrains are distributed at cheap rates to the poor, so that they do not starve.

b) Maharashtra Academy of Sciences is a learned society whose head offices are located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The society was established in 1976 with the aim of promoting science and examining the scientific and technological issues affecting the state.

c) oThe use of chemical fertilizers and synthetic herbicides and pesticidesfood security ensures that foodgrains are distributed at cheap rates to the poor, so that they do not starve.
