Ideal ammeter refers to the fact that the ammeter shall have no resistance ( zero resistance in ideal conditions).

We can see that all the 3 ohm resistors are in series , hence shall have same current flowing through them .

Net resistance will be R eq.

R eq. = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 ohm

Hence current will be I

I = V/R = 18/9 = 2 amp

Hence final answer is

Ammeter reading will be 2 ampere
