1.) What should be added to -5/4 to -1

Solution:

Let the required number be x

According to the question

 \frac{ - 5}{4}  + x =  - 1 \\ x =  - 1 +  \frac{5}{4}  \\ x =  \frac{ - 4 + 5}{4}  \\ x =  \frac{1}{4}

2.) Which of the following is the product of (-7/8) and 4/21

(a)-1/6, (b)12, (c)-63/16, (d)-16/147

Solution:

 \frac{ - 7}{8}  \times  \frac{4}{21}  \\  =   \frac{ - 1}{6}
