Question :

Two resistors 3ohm and 6ohm are first connected in series and then in parallel. Find the ratio of effective resistances...

Answer :

Formulae used -

Net resistance in series = R1 + R2 + R3+...

Net resistance in parallel = [tex]\frac{1}{R1} +\frac{1}{R2}+\frac{1}{R3} +....[/tex]

Solution -

Resistance in series = (6+3)ohm = 9ohm

for, Resistance in parallel =

 \frac{1}{R1} =  \frac{1}{6}  +  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1 + 2}{6}  =  \frac{1}{2}

R(in parallel) = 2

so,

ratio would be

{\huge{\boxed{\bf{9:2}}}}
