Mass of the hammer = 500g = 0.5 kg

Initial velocity u = 15 m/s

Final velocity = 0 m/s

Distance travelled = 75 mm = 0.075 m

Required:

Acceleration a = ?
Force f = ?

sol {}^{n} .....

Using the equation of motion,

v² - u² = 2as
∴ v² = u² + 2as

➡ (0)² = (15)² + 2 × a × 0.075

➡ - 225 = 0.15 a

∴ a = 1500 m/s²

Now, we know that,

F = M × A

= 0.5 × 1500
= 750 N
