(b) When high energy UV rays radiation react with oxygen present in stratosphere it splits into its constituent atoms. Since these atoms produced are very reactive they react with molecular oxygen to form ozone.

O2 (oxygen molecule ) + O (oxygen atom) ──⟩ O3 (ozone molecule).
