i) The process is photosynthesis.

ii) The aim of the above experiment is to prove that oxygen gas is released (as a by product) during photosynthesis.

iii) It must be ensured that the level of water in the beaker is kept above the level of the brim of the funnel, so that the water from the test tube does not fall.

iv) On adding sodium bicarbonate, carbon dioxide gas evolves, which increases the rate of formation of oxygen, thus bubbling increases.

v) If this setup is kept in the dark, rate of bubbling will decrease and finally stop. Because on the dark there is no sunlight, so there is no energy and the light dependent phase of photosynthesis stops..
