Take two burning candles. Cover one candle with a glass jar, make sure it is air tight. Keep the other candle as it is. We observe that after some time the candle kept in the jar flickers and eventually extinguishes, while the other candle keeps burning. This is because the candle in the jar had limited amount of oxygen which it used up in some time and so, extinguished. Hence, we can say that oxygen helps in burning.

put each candle under each glass separately one should have oxygen inside the glass and the other shouldn't have it. The glass in which the oxygen is present it will last longer that means the the candle burns until all the the oxygen inside the glass is used up this shows that oxygen helps in burning.
