Hey,

Cell membrane is a very important component of the cell. If it is damaged then the cell will not be able to perform it's functions because cell membrane is selectively permeable so it allows the entry of only those substances in the cell which will not cause any damage to it. But in its absence, the foreign elements will also gain entry inside the cell and will probably damage it.

Hope this helps you buddy!!
Take care always :):)

CELL MEMBRANE that is the plasma membrane which the protective envelope for the cell it is the boundary for all the contents inside the cell
the cytoplasm which a fluid and a part of the cell is usually guarded by the cell membrane
if cell membrane is disturbed obviously the whole cell will get collapsed and hence the functions get disturbed
hope this helps u........
