80 km in 90 minutes (1hr 30min)
speed = 80/ 1.5=53.33km/hr

(a) at the speed of 53.33
as given in the question he can cover 80 km in90 minutes

he will cover 40 km in ...45 minutes.

(b) so as given in question he can cover 80 km in 1.5 hr so
in 3 hr he will cover dobule distace means (80×2)=160 km

jish4you: not approx bro exactly 45 minutes :)
eduatulrajp3br2d: yes
jish4you: try to keep answers in fractions itself , especially when same fraction will be used later to find other values...it will be easy for calculations ...keep up :)
eduatulrajp3br2d: thanxx for the suggestion
jish4you: you are welcome

Hi ,

Given
distance covered = 80 km
Time taken = 3/2 hrs
so
Speed = d/t
= 80/1.5
= 160/3 km/h

a)
t= d/s
= 40 / (160/3)
= 3/4
= 3/4 * 60
= 45 minutes
so time taken will be 45 minutes for traveling 40km with same speed

b)
d = s * t
= 160/3 * 3
= 160 km
so 160 km will be covered with same speed if traveled for 3 hrs

Hope it helped.
Let me know if any doubts.
Cheers !!!
