x+y=31 .....(1)

x-y=5 .....(2)

On adding equation (1) and (2),we get

x+y+x-y=31+5

2x=36

x=18

On subtracting equation (2) from (1),we get

x+y-x+y=31-5

2y=26

y=13

x^3+y^3=18^3+13^3

=8029

(b)

4000=2×2×2×2×2×5×5×5

So, 2 must be multiplied to get a perfect cube
