Answer the Questions based on cell....
1. who discovered cell?
2. who discovered first living cells?
3. which substance is act as major constituent of cell wall?
4. who is known as power house of a cell?
5. which organelle contains chloroplasts in it?
6. proteins and lipids essential for building the cell membranes are manufactured by which cell organelle?
Answers
Answer:
1.Robert Hooke
Initially discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665, the cell has a rich and interesting history that has ultimately given way to many of today's scientific advancements.
2.The first man to witness a live cell unwder a microscope was Anton van Leeuwenhoek, who in 1674 described the algae Spirogyra. Van Leeuwenhoek probably also saw bacteria.
3.Cellulose, in contrast, has a quite distinct function as the principal structural component of the plant cell wall. Perhaps surprisingly, then, cellulose is also composed entirealy of glucose molecules.
4.Mitochondria are tiny organelles inside cells that are involved in releasing energy from food. This process is known as cellular respiration. It is for this reason that mitochondria are often referred to as the powerhouses of the cell.
5.Chloroplasts and Other Plastids. Chloroplasts, the organelles responsible for photosynthesis, are in many respects similar to mitochondria. Both chloroplasts and mitochondria function to generate metabolic energy, evolved by endosymbiosis, contain their own genetic systems, and replicate by division.
6.Rough endoplasmic reticulum produces and transports protein and smooth endoplasmic reticulum produces and transports lipid which provides a framework to the plasma membrane by a known as membrane biogenesis.
