The first major inventions that began the Industrial Revolution were the steam engine and spinning jenny. The steam engine was created in the early 1700s, and perfected in the late 1700s.

Eventually by 19th century,most countries of Asia and Africa became colonies of the industrialised and capitalist nations of Europe,by virtue of their superior technogical power.It led to the political and economic control of a weak country by a powerful one.

The Industrial Revolution began in Britain in the mid to late 19th century. Imperialism by that times was a millennia old phenomenon. Sargon I (c. 2276-2221 B.C.) is generally the first empire builder. So to suggest that the Industrial Revolution launched imperialism is absurd. Just as the idea hat the Industrial Revolution began child labor is absurd.

Socialism and industrialization in contrast led to the creation of a new empire. The Soviets created a huge Eastern European empire. The United States, the world’s largest industrial power prevented Soviet expansion West. Communist China has also created a colonial empire.
