REFERANCE TO CONTEXT

a) the traveller has come to very lonely place where no one lives except the phantom listeners.

b)the figure of speech for 1st line is alliteration

c) the birds flew out of the tweet because the traveller had knocked on the door where only the phantom listeners are there in the house and the traveller coming to keep his promise while his horse silence champed the grasses.

SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS

  1. The phantoms are the listeners.The world of men" simply refers to the world in which we all live, a world of living, breathing human beings. It is the world inhabited by the lone traveler who, in the dead of night, knocks at the door to keep his promise to the phantom listeners
  2. when the traveller was knocking on the door no one answerd him.
  • no humans were present there except for the traveller as it is mentioned to that voice from the world of men which gives a clue that nobody ever lived there
  • no head from the leaf finger i sill as there were no things (it would only be there if humans would be there)and the place was empty
  • but no one desended to the traveller as only phantom listeners lived there
  • when the traveller asked if anyone is there no one responded to him as the place was abondand and lonley.(avoided by humans)
