Plants provide us with food, fiber, shelter, medicine, and fuel. The basic food for all organisms is produced by green plants. In the process of food production, oxygen is released.

There are several things that we get from plants, some of which are-

1) They provide us all our basic necessities i.e. food, clothing and shelter.

2) Plants provide us the life gas oxygen and the wood.

3) We get gums and resins from plants.

4) They also provide us pleasant scenery, fragrance and perfumes.

5) Several plants like Turmeric, Opium, Tulasi, Neem etc. have medicinal importance to us.

6) They provide different habitats and play important role in different Bio-Geo- Chemical cycles etc.

In short we can say, plants exist, we exist.
