AnswEr:-

Your Answer Is 2 : 1.

ExplanaTion:-

Given:-

  • Two Resistors of 10 ohm and 20 ohm respectively. (Say resistor A and B)

  • Both resistors are connected in series with 5 volt battery.

To Find:-

  • The ratio of current passing through both the resistors.

Law Used:-

Ohm's Law:-

\tt\longrightarrow V = IR (by \: ohms \: law).

\tt\longrightarrow I = \dfrac{V}{R} .

Where,

  • V = Volts (Potential difference).
  • I = Current.
  • R = Resistance.

Now,

By using above formula:-

Current passing through 10 Ohm resistor:-

= V/R.

= 5/10 amphere.

= 1/2 A.

Similarly,

Current passing through 20 ohm resistor:-

= V/R.

= 5/20 amphere.

= 1/4 A.

Therefore,

\dfrac{\frac{1}{2}}{\frac{1}{4}}.

= \cancel\dfrac{4}{2}.

= \dfrac{2}{1}.

So ratio of current passing through A : B,

= 2 : 1.

Therefore your answer is 2 : 1.
