Answer these following questions-:
1. What happens NaOH comes in contact with red litmus solution?
2. Which metal other than aluminium reacts with NaOH to produce hydrogen gas?

1) Red litmus in basic condition will turn Blue.

2) Zinc when reacted with NaOH gives Sodium Zincate and H2 gas.

3) When CO2 is passed over lime water, it turns milky because of formation of CaCO3 which is doesn't get dissolve and gives white milky precipitate.

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 --> CaCO3 (ppt) + H2O

4) Na2Zn(OH)4

5) NaOH, KOH etc

  1. if the NaOH is dry it will not react. if it is aqueous it will turn red litmus blue bcoz of it's basic nature.
