♥ HERE IS YOUR ANSWER ♥

The muscular system is an organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles.

ON THE BASIS OF STRUCTURE, LOCATION AND FUNCTION MUSCLES ARE OF THREE TYPES:

1. Skeletal muscles are also known as striated muscles and voluntary muscles. They are attached to bones and are responsible for body movements. They provide the force for locomotion and all voluntary actions.

2. Smooth muscles are also known as unstraited and involuntary muscles. They occur as bundles or sheets of elongated fusiform or spindle shaped cells or fibres. Smooth muscles contracts slowly but remain contracted for long periods of time.

3. Cardiac muscles show characteristics of both skeletal and smooth muscles. They are composed of branched fibres and the branches join to form a network. Cardiac muscles contract and relax rapidly, rhythmically and tirelessly throughout a life time.
