In the commercial farming crops are grown and animal are reared for sale in the market. The area cultivated is large. In this type of farming most of the work is done by the modern machine.

|| Types of Commercial Farming ||

There are three types of commercial farming :

  1. Commercial Grain Farming.
  2. Mixed Farming.
  3. Plantation Agriculture.

Commercial Farming :

Crops like wheat and maize are grown for sale and earning profit. Major areas of commercial grain farming temperate grassland of North America, Europe and Asia. These areas are sparsely populated with the large farms. Single crop is grown.

Mixed Farming :

The land is used for growing food for the crops and rearing livestock. It is practised in Europe, Eastern USA, southeast Asia New Zealand and South Africa.

Plantation Agriculture :

Single crop of tea, coffee, sugarcane, rubber, banana are grown .Plantation farming requires large amount of labour and capital. Major plantation at found in the tropical region of the world.Rubber in Malaysia, Coffee in Brazil tea in India and Sri Lanka and some example.
