a) desert plants are drought- or salt-tolerant. Some store water in their leaves, roots, and stems. Other desert plants have long tap roots that penetrate the water table, anchor the soil, and control erosion

b)Phycocyanins are found in Cyanobacteria (also called blue-green algae). Phycobiliproteins have fluorescent properties that are used in immunoassay kits.

c)potassium since the potassium already occupies most of the fixing sites. Biological fixation of ammonium in soils occurs when micro-organisms immobilize the applied nitrogen. Jansson (1971) showed that micro-organisms prefer ammonium to nitrate nitrogen when a choice is possible.
