Answer- The above question is related to chemical symbols and chemical formulae.

Formulae of some ions:

1) Suphate ion- SO₄²⁻

2) Chloride ion- Cl⁻

3) Oxide ion- O²⁻

4) Phosphate- PO₄³⁻

5) Acetate- CH₃CHOO⁻

Given question: The formula of the sulphate of an element M is M₂(SO₄)₃. Write the formula of its

a) Chloride

b) Oxide

c) Phosphate

d) Acetate

Answer: From the sulphate of M, we get to know about its valency i.e. 3.

a) Valency of chloride = 1

Chloride of M = MCl₃

b) Valency of Oxide = 2

Oxide of M = M₂O₃

c) Valency of Phosphate = 3

Phosphate of M = MPO₄

d) Valency of Acetate = 1

Acetate of M = (CH₃COO)₃M
