Heya

Fire extinguisher is an instrument used for extinguishing fire in emergency cases. There are many types of fire extinguishers. I will tell you about the soda-acid fire extinguisher which is a common type. This extinguisher has sodium bicarbonate and conc. sulphuric acid. These two react and produce water and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide forms a blanket like layer around the burning substance and cuts off oxygen supply. Like this, the substance stops burning.

Most fire extinguishers work by separating the fuel from. the oxygen the oxygen comes from the air it is same oxygen we breathe . Since the oxygen has to be in contact with the fuel, If you can coat the fuel with something that keeps the oxygen away, the fire will go out.....
