n21 =Refractive index of glass with respect to air = 1.5
V1 = velocity of light in air = 3 × 10^8 m/s
V2 = velocity of light in glass ( To find )
n21 = velocity of light in air / velocity of light in glass
=> n21 = V1 / V2
=> V2 = V1 / n21 = ( 3 × 10^8 ) / 1.5
= ( 3 × 10^8 ) / ( 15 / 10 )
= ( 3 × 10^8 ) / ( 3 / 2 )
= 2 × 10^8 m/s
Thus velocity of light in glass = 2 × 10^8 m/s
