\mathbb{ANSWER-}

REFRIGERATOR - 400W for 8hr

400W = 0.4 kW

In kWh - 0.4×8 = 3.2kWh

IRON - 750W for 2 hours

750W = 0.75kW { 1000W = 1kWh}

In kWh - 0.75 × 2 = 1.5kWh (kWh = kW×Time taken)

Adding both we get,

3.2 + 1.5 = 4.7kWh

Calculating the cost,

\boxed{COST = kWh×Days×Cost\:per\:unit}

=> 4.7×30×3 = Rs.423

Additional Information

  • kWh is the commerial unit of energy
  • 1kWh = 3.6 megajoules
