Solution

Given :-

  • tan θ + 1/tan θ = 2 ---------(1)

Find :-

  • tan² θ + 1/ tan² θ = ?

Explanation

Using Formula

( a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab

So, Squaring both side of equation (1)

➠ (tan θ + 1/tan θ)² = 2²

➠ (tan² θ + 1/tan² θ + 2 * tan θ * 1/tan θ = 4

➠ (tan² θ + 1/tan² θ) + 2 = 4

➠(tan² θ + 1/tan² θ) = 4 - 2

(tan² θ + 1/tan² θ) = 2

_______________________

Hence

  • Value of (tan² θ + 1/tan² θ) = 2

\bigstar Given :

  • \bold{tan\theta+\frac{1}{tan\theta}=2 }

\bigstar To Find :

  • \bold{tan^2\theta+\frac{1}{tan^2\theta}}

\bigstar Formula Used :

  • \bold{(a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab}

\bigstar Solution :

\bold{tan\theta+\frac{1}{tan\theta}=2 }\\\\\bold{Squaring\;on\;both\;sides\;,we\;get\;,}\\\\\implies\bold{tan^2\theta+\frac{1}{tan^2\theta}+2.tan\theta.\frac{1}{tan\theta}=4  }\\\\\implies\bold{tan^2\theta+\frac{1}{tan^2\theta}+2=4}\\\\\implies\bold{tan^2\theta+\frac{1}{tan^2\theta}=4-2}\\\\\implies \bold{tan^2\theta+\frac{1}{tan^2\theta}=2}
