just take object distance as 64-32 becoz it is placed at a distance of 64 from white screen .....nd in d second line they gave us a hint that the convex lens is placed at a distance of 32 from d object...
so object distance will be -32
u=-32
and take image distance as 32 becoz the image is formed on d screen at a distance of 32 when u minus 64-32 we will get 32
we know that d lens formula is 1/f=1/v-1/u
substitute d values...
1/f= 1/32-1/-32
1/f=1/32+1/32
1/f=2/32
1/f=1/16
f=16
and magnification =h'/h=v/u
h'/2=32/-32
-32h=64
-h=64/32
-h=2
h=-2
