Answer:

  • Given polynomial : p(x) = x² - 4x + 3

Zeroes of the polynomials :

⇒ p(x) = x² - 4x + 3

⇒ x² - 4x + 3 = 0

⇒ x² - 3x - x + 3 = 0

⇒ x(x - 3) - 1(x - 3) = 0

⇒ (x - 1)(x - 3) = 0

⇒ (x - 1) = 0 or, (x - 3) = 0

x = 1 or, x = 3

Hence, zeroes of the given polynomial are 1 and 3.

Relationship b/w zeroes and coefficients :

  • a = 1
  • b = - 4
  • c = 3

⇢ Sum of Zeroes = - b/a

⇢ (1 + 3) = - (- 4)/1

4 = 4

⇢ Product of Zeroes = c/a

⇢ (1 × 3) = 3/1

3 = 3
