Answer :

Let 'Rakesh's' present age be 'x'

Then Kiran's age = x + 24

Ten years before

Rakesh age = x - 10

Kiran age = x + 24 -10 = x + 14

According to the question

$(x + 14) = 5 \times (x - 10)$
$x + 14 = 5x - 50$
$x + 14 + 50 = 5x$
$4x = 64$
$x = 16$
Rakesh age = 16

Kiran age = 16 +24 = 40
