let the present age of father be x years and his sons age be y years.

according to question

present age

x=6y.......(i)

four years hence

x+4=4(y+4)

x+4=4y+16

6y+4=4y+16. (from (i)

2y=12

y=6

x=6*6

x=36

hence,father age is 36years and his sons age is 6years
