in a quadratic equation sum of zeroes =-b/a

here a=k^2-14.

b=-2

c=-4.

given

-b/a=1.

so,-(-2)/k^2-14=1/1.

cross multiplication.

2=k^2-14.

k^2=2+14

k^2=16

k=√16.

k=4.
