10x+y+10y+x=66
11x+11y=66
x+y=6------1)

x-y=2--------2)

Adding 1) and 2), we get

2x=8
x=4

x+y=6
4+y=6
y=2

swati104: why you answered only one

Heya !!

Here's your answer ..
----------------------------------
Q. 9

Ans.

 \frac{1}{2x}  -  \frac{1}{2y}  =  - 2 \:  \: and \:  \:  \frac{1}{x}  -  \frac{1}{2y}  = 1 \\  \\ let \:  \: take \:  \:  \frac{1}{x}  = a \:  \: and \:  \:  \frac{1}{y}  = b \\  \\ a - b  =  - 4 \:  \:  \:  ........(1) \\ 2a - b = 1 \:  \:  \: ..........(2) \\  \\ subtract \:  \: eq.(2) \:  \: from \:  \: eq.(1) \\  \\ <br />

a - b = -4
-2a +b = - 1
-------------------
- a = - 5
a = 5

put the value of ( a) in eq. (1)...,

5 - b = - 4
- b = -4 -5
-b = -9

b = 9

1/x = a = 5
1/y = b = 9

x = 1/5
y = 1/9
-----------------------------------
Q. 10

Ans.

Let Ten's place = x

Unit place = y

original no. = 10x + y

No. obtain by reversing it = 10y + x

Given that sum of two digits and no. obtain by reversing it is 66.

10x + y + 10y + x = 66
11x + 11y = 66

11 ( x + y ) = 66
x + y = 6 ......(3)

Now given the digits of a no. differ by 2..,

x - y = 2
x = 2 + y ......... (4)

put value of x in eq. (3)

2 + y + y = 6

2y = 6 - 2
y = 4/2
y = 2

put value of (y) in eq (4)..,

x = 2 + 2
x = 4

original no. = 10x + y
= 10(4) + 2
= 40+2
= 42
------------------------------------------
Hope it helps..
Thanks :)
