The area of canvas required is the curved surface area of the cylinder part and the conic part.
Given that radius of cone and cylinder is 7, height of cylinder is 30, and height of cone is
54-30=24 m. So now we just need to substitute the values in the formula.
For the cylinder part,
csa = 2\pi \: rh \\ = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 30\\ = 44 \times 30 = 1320
For the conic part,
csa = \pi \: rl \\ = \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times \sqrt{ {24}^{2} + {7}^{2} } \\ = 22 \times \sqrt{625} \\ = 22 \times 25 = 550
Thus, we get the total area to be
1320 + 550 = 1870{m}^{2}
