The result is the ferrous sulphate decompose to ferrous oxide + sulphur dioxide+ sulphur trioxide in the presence of heat

Explanation:

The ferrous sulphate Crystals which is green in colour contain 7 molecules of water so due to heating it loses water and it decompose to brown colour ferric oxide and sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide which produce a burning smell of sulphur
