my dear sherley you may have seen the lower part of the tree as painted white near the roads . they are painted so as to reflect the light falling on it during night during day and probably everywhere and every time so that can be seen from far point also .Sometimes they are painted white so as to mark the tree as reserved by environmental department (van vibhag) so that it should not be cut...
