Q15. Let the number of 5 Rupee coin be x and 2 rupee coin be 3x
Total coin is 160
Number of 1 rupee coin will be = 160-x+3x = 160 – 4x
Value of 5 rupee coin is 5 × x = 5x
Value od 2 rupee coin is 2 +×3x = 6x
Value of 1 Rupee coin is 1(160 -4x) = 160 - 4x
Total money is ₹300
So,
5x + 6x + 160 – 4x = 300
11x – 4x = 300 – 160
7x = 140
x = 140÷7
x = 20

Number of 5 Rupee coin is 20
Number of 2 Rupee coin is 3 × 20 = 60
Number of 1 Rupee coin is 160 – 4(20) = 160 – 80 = 80

Q 16. Total participats were 63 (given)

Let the winners be x and non- winners be 63 – x
Value of winners' prize is 100 × x = 100x
Value of non winners prize is 25(63 - x) = 1575 – 25x
Total prize money to be distributed is 3000 Rs.

So, 100x + 1575 – 25x = ₹3000
100x – 25x = 3000 – 1575
75x = 1425
x = 1425 ÷ 75
x = 19
So the number of winners' are 19
