i) It may be a convex lens because it produces magnified image when the object is placed near it.

ii) the palmist should keep the lens approximately Between 2F and F.

If kept at Focus the image will be produced at infinity but real and magnified. So it should placed between 2F and F.

iii) f=10 cm

u=-5cm

v=?

By lens formula,we have,

 \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{u}  \\  \frac{1}{10}  -  \frac{1}{5}  =  \frac{1}{v}  \\  \frac{1 - 2}{10}  =  \frac{1}{v}  \\ v =  - 10cm

m=-v/u

m=10/-5

m=-2

So the image it two times the palm and virtual and erect.( since, it is actually placed between F and O and v and m is negative)
