Area = (2 × area of trapezium) + (area of rectangle)

  • height of trapezium = (25-14)/2 = 11/2
  • area of trapezium= 1/2 × height × sum of lengths of parallel sides = 1/2×11/2×(8+16) = 66
  • area of rectangle = 8 × 14 = 112

So, total area = (2 × 66) + 112 = 132 + 112 = 244

Answer:

Required area = Area of reactangle + 2 × Area of trapezium

Note :

Area of rectangle = L x B = 14 × 8 = 112 cm^2

Area of trapezium = 1/2 x ( sum of parallel sides ) x height

= 1 /2 × ( 8 + 16 ) x 11

= 1/ 2 × 24 x 11 = 12 x 11 = 132 cm^2

Thus required area = 112 + 132 = 244 cm^2
