Answer: option (C)

Step-by-step explanation:

You can easily verify these by factorisation and checking to get an (x - 2) , but right now I am showing you a different method by using division .

For equations having 2 as a root , they must have (x - 2) as a factor , so that we can write (x - 2) = 0 to get x = 2 .

So we have to verify which of these equations are divisible by (x - 2) .

For this see the attachment .

So only in option (C) , the remainder is 0 . This shows that (x - 2) is a factor of 2x² - 7x + 6 , and so the third equation has 2 as  a root .

Hope this helps you .
