m+1/m =2

square on both sides,

(m +1/m)^2 = 2^2

m^2+1/m^2 +2( m*1/m) = 4

m^2 + 1/m^2+2=4

m^2+1/m^2 =4-2 =2

then, m^2+1/m^2 =2

again square on both sides,

(m^2 + 1/m^2)^2 = 2^2

m^4 +1/m^4 + 2(m^2 * 1/m^2)=4

m^4+1/m^4 = 4-2

m^4+1/m^4 =2

hence proved
