Jawaharlal Nehru in his book 'The Discovery of India' is trying to say that tolerance is very much ingrained in all citizens. India is not only united, but its people also know how to accept the customs and beliefs of others.

Answer:

Answer: ... India is not only united, but its people also know how to accept the customs and beliefs of others.

Jawahar Lal Nehru, in his book "Discovery of India" meant by the phrase 'unity in diversity' that India was always united inspite of geographical, religious and cultural differences among the people. Indian unity is not something imposed from outside but it is something deeper and within its fold.
