 {x}^{2}  + 2x + 4p = 0

 {( - 4)}^{2}  + 2 \times  (- 4) + 4p = 0

16 - 8 + 4p = 0

8 + 4p = 0

4p = -8

p = -8/4

p =  - 2

 {x}^{2}  + px(1 + 3k) + 7(3 + 2k) = 0

  {( - 4)}^{2}  + ( - 2)( - 4)(1 + 3k) + 7(3 + 2k) = 0

16 + 8(1+3k) + 7(3+2k) = 0

16 + 8 + 24k + 21 + 14k = 0

(16 + 8 + 21) + (24k + 14k) = 0

45 + 38k = 0

38k = -45

k \:  =  \frac{-45}{38}

Hope it helps.
