AP= 3cm

then, BP= AP= 3cm (lengths of tangents drawn from an external pt. are equal)

given - PC = 8cm

PC = BP + BC

8cm = 3cm + BC

BC= 5cm

also, CD=BC=5cm (lengths of tangents drawn....)

hence, CD= 5cm
