glass slab is combination of two prisms placed in opposite directions. as a result the dispersion of light by the first prism is recomposed into whit light by the second prism. that is why white light does not split into different colours when it passes through a glass slab

because glass prisim only act as a medium for the dispersion of light.

and spectrum separet light into its constituents.
