Answer:

Correct option is

B

(i) and (iii)

If starch is mixed with iodine, it gives a blue-black colour.

The 'boiled and mashed potato' and a 'slice of bread' contain starch and all other options are not containing starch. So, 'boiled and mashed potato' and a 'slice of bread' will give blue-black colour when it tested with iodine.

The correct answer is option (b).

Highest amount of starch will be present in (a) Solution A.

  1. Crushed boiled potato will have maximum starch due to the reason that digestion of carbohydrates start in our mouth.
  2. Salivary amylase also known by the name ptyalin is secreted in our mouth to breakdown starch into its constituents.
  3. With increase in time of chewing more starch will be broken down and hence it's concentration will decrease.
