Given : First recipe requires 1/2 cup of sugar.

Given :  Second recipe requires 2 tablespoon of sugar

According to the given question:

1 tablespoon = 1/16 cup

So, 2 tablespoons = 2 * (1/16) = 1/8 cups.

Hence, more amount of sugar the 1st cup requires:

=  (1/2) - (1/8)

=  3/8 cup
