  • For example - Rajasthan has the largest area but has less population as compared to area
  • Mumbai has the good weather conditions and has lot of employment opportunities but northeast region don't have such opportunities . So ,the population of Mumbai is greater than northeast regions
  • Villages has less population as compared to the cities.

Distribution of population in India is uneven die to various geographical, social and economic factors.

Example for geographical factor

Ganga plains are populated while the Himalayas are not populated.

Example of social factor

Pune is highly populated due to the easy availability of health and educational sectors.

Example of cultural factor

Various cities in Tamil Nadu such as Madurai and Coimbatore are highly populated due to their religious importance.
