(a) Element A is a non metal because it may have 5 , 6 or 7 electrons in its valence shell. Therefore, to become chemically stable it needs 3 ,2 or 1 electrons respectively. After acquiring the respective electrons, the non metals become electronegative or anion i.e., with a negative valency .
(b) It is because it may be possible that element B may has a bigger atomic number than element C and so it has more number of electrons and more number of shells or orbits or energy levels.
(c) Element C has valency 1 due to the following reasons:
1. If element C is a metal , then it may has 9 valence electrons and to become chemically stable it has to lose one electron to complete its octet .
2. If element C is a non metal, then it may has 7 valence electrons and to become chemically stable it has to gain one electron to complete its octet.
Hope it helps.
Answer:
(a)Because it gain electrons .from other atoms
b)because of every layer of electrons just adds up.
c)because it outer most shell have only one valence electrons.
bye and happy holy sis.
