Let Total number of students in the school be X .





Number of boys in the school = 1482


Number of girls in the school = 43% of total students = 43% of X = 43/100 × X = 43X/100.






Therefore,


Number of girls + Number of boys = Total number of students.




43X/100 + 1482 = X




43X + 148200/100 = X



43X + 148200 = 100X



100X - 43X = 148200



57X = 148200



X = 2600.



Number of students in the school = X = 2600


And,

Number of girls = 43X/100 = 43 × 2600/100 = 1118 .
