Answer:

Heya....

__________________________

We know that

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  -  \frac{b}{a}

where \: b \: is \: the \: coeffecient \: of \:  x

and \: a \: is \: the \: coeffecient \: of \:  {x}^{2}

 \alpha  \times  \beta  =  \frac{c}{a}

where \: c \: is \: the \: constant \: term

Therefore our question

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  \frac{1}{2}  \alpha  \beta

can be rewritten as :

   \frac{k + 6}{1}  =  \frac{2(2k - 1)}{1} ×1/2

k + 6 = 2k - 1

7= k

Hence ,

the value of k is 7
