no. of students like to eat rice = 40/5 = 8
no. of students like to eat chapati = 80/5 = 16
no. of students like both = 40 - 24 = 16
fraction of students who like both = 16/40 = 2/5

29) work completed in 2 hours = 2/3
work completed in 1 hour = 1/3
work completed in 11/4 hours = 1/3*11/4
= 11/12

30) let the no. of pages be x
page read = 1/5 x+ 40 = 7/10x
= 1/5x - 7/10x = -40
= -5/10x = -40
= 1/2x = 40
= x = 80 pages
pages read = 7/10 * 80
= 56 pages
pages left to read = 80 - 56
= 24 pages
